Rates Application Support Specialist

-Supporting the rates business covering the treasury, agency, inflation, options and swaps desk, users include the trading desk, sales and middle office.
-First point of contact for all support queries and application incidents.
-Supporting high frequency low latency etrading platforms, RFQs, post trade and risk and p&l systems.
-Work in close collaboration with traders, infrastructure support and developers
-The role requires a highly motivated and dedicated individual to provide procedural and technical support.
-This is a demanding role which requires someone who can work in a pressurized environment.
-Technical skills required, include: SQL, Linux, Windows Servers, understanding of middleware components, the ability to support C, java, VB systems
-Understanding of Treasury bonds is ideal.
This is a high-profile and critical role working in a pressurized environment and demands an individual with flexibility, acumen and the ability to assimilate lots of information quickly, with focus on Incident and Problem Management. This is a critical role requiring a highly motivated and dedicated individual who can provide procedural and technical support within the support team to FI trading desks.
The candidate should be able to:
Communicate status of applications and incidents with end users at all times with the ability to communicate technical and production-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Provide support for trade booking to traders and operations staff for any position adjustments and/or discrepancies and recommends methods of resolution.
Be able to diagnoses, and resolves functional and technical problems and business critical incidents through research and analysis of trends, root causes, and business impact
Perform incident management, by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving functional and technical problems and business critical incidents through research and analysis of trends, root causes, and business impact.
Have strong research, investigation and evaluation skills, with a structured approach to problem solving.
Effectively prioritizing tasks, issues, and projects in a highly dynamic work environment that includes a global focus.
Be able to work in close collaboration with the Infrastructure Support, application developers, offshore Core support resources, application Managers and developers.
Be responsible for tracking change requests and high severity incidents in accordance with defined service levels
Maintain a knowledge base of known defects and issues, process, techniques.
Have a technical understanding of systems processes and the tools used to build those processes. These include Java, c, Linux, Windows, Databases, SQL.
