Job Description:

Provide accounting support, account payable transactions, reimbursements, compliance with UT policy and procedures, customer service and records retention for documents processed within the Department of Molecular Biosciences.

Job Details:

Responsibilities
  • Prepare encumbrances, payments, reimbursements, process procards, deposits, and correction vouchers via electronic processing.

  • Maintain payment processing electronic workflow and update client records in UT Box.

  • Provide consistent, timely and reliable communication to clients via email or other methods regarding status of approvals, returns, and process changes.
  • Interpret and apply relevant rules, regulations and policies to ensure financial transactions are consistent with university policies.
  • Attend meetings, act as a liaison and provide accounting expertise or assist and answer any financial related questions. Act as a backup document creator and processor for all actions related to the office.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting or relevant field. Demonstrated excellent communication skills and customer service attitude. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Knowledge of general accounts payable practices or vendor relations. Experience with common office computing software. Ability to prioritize work and multitask. Professional demeanor. History of regular and punctual attendance. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • More than the required education and experience. Familiarity with State or UT Austin vouchering and accounting policies and procedures. Experience using electronic accounting and work management systems to process web-based documents. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work both independently and as a team member without day-to-day supervision. Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and proficiency in gathering, analyzing, presenting financial data and making recommendations.

Salary Range

$38,500 + depending on qualifications
