(190003K5) Job Duties The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) affects every household in Ohio by regulating publicly owned providers of all utility services, including electric and natural gas companies, local and long distance telephone companies, water and wastewater companies, rail and trucking companies. The PUCO was created to assure Ohioans adequate, safe and reliable public utility services at a fair price. The PUCO facilitates competitive utility choices for Ohio consumers.
The successful applicant will:
  • assist in defining, developing and implementing Administration Division succession plan, divisional goals, and objectives.

  • assist with management and development of staff.

  • serve as Registrar for the PUCO.

  • review information contained in the registration records for accuracy and complies with all applicable laws and rules.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or closely related area; AND 6 months experience in either field.
OR 30 months experience in administrative, management or supervisory position.
OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
Knowledge of management principles/techniques; supervisory principles/techniques; budgeting; public relations; agency policies & procedures relating to program area*; employee training & development; labor relations; interviewing.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; prepare & deliver speeches; handle sensitive telephone & face-to-face inquiries & contacts with general public & government officials; establish friendly atmosphere as manager of division.
