Air Quality Consultant (Associate Level)

ERM Group – Rolling Meadows, IL

ERM is seeking a hands-on Air Quality Consultant looking for an opportunity based out of Rolling Meadows, IL . As a team member, you will support ambient air quality measurement projects throughout North America, in support of ERM s regional and national air quality practice. The ideal candidate will have the ability to implement continuous instrument and manual field monitoring programs based on defined objectives, work with the collected data, document results in written reports, and work directly with ERM clients and programs. Responsibilities will include concurrent management of multiple projects, with responsibility for technical quality, budget, and schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Work with air quality engineers and lead field teams supporting clients to execute project scope and plans for monitoring, data collection, and data quality review.
  • Install, operate, calibrate, and repair ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring instruments.
  • Collect ambient air samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Ensure the safety of oneself and ones team members during project operations in support of ERM s Zero Accident health and safety programs.
  • Support equipment calibrations and maintenance, routine ambient air quality analysis, as well as collect, organize, and manage field data for air quality compliance and assessment programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, science, or engineering is preferred.
  • Two to seven years of work experience; consulting, preferred.
  • At least one year of ambient air quality monitoring experience.
  • Project management and field team leadership experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout North America; travel approximately 50% of the time. Possible limited foreign travel.
  • Good mechanical skills and general knowledge of electrical components.
  • Understanding of ambient air quality monitoring systems, operations, and reporting.
  • Physically able to lift equipment (~50 lbs.) and climb ladders/platforms.
  • Good driving record.
  • Strong MS Office and Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
