DevOps Engineer

KEY SKILLS: YOUR ROLE We at Innovaccer are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer- I to for deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the systems that keep the backend infrastructure running smoothly. The role requires you to have hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards environment automation/management and continuous improvement. The role will encompass the use of a broad range of both on-premise and cloud technologies, as well as operating systems (Windows, OSX, Linux) and application environments.

THE REALLY GREAT THINGS YOU’LL BE DOING

▶ Responsible for Infrastructure maintenance, availability, performance & cost reduction.

▶ Dive deep to resolve problems at their root and troubleshoot services related to big data stack in our on-premise deployments, cloud, and hybrid cloud.

▶ Develop software tools to give insights into costs & utilization patterns.

▶ Enhance and maintain our monitoring infrastructure.

▶ Develop automation tools for managing our networks and cloud infrastructure.

▶ Partake in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our production backends

▶ Acts as the technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing solutions supportability

▶ Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms based on engineering requirements.

▶ Works with engineers on the requirements and provides recommendations for improvements.

▶ Forecasts utilization patterns and identifies modifications or upgrades.

▶ Recommends changes/enhancements for improved systems availability, reliability, and performance.

WHAT LANDS YOU THIS ROLE

▶ Work in a fast-paced environment with the agility to change directions as per business needs.

▶ You should have 2-4 years of experience with a start-up mentality in managing & troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

▶ Familiarity with big data stack, HDFS, HBase, YARN clusters, Elasticsearch

▶ Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, CloudFormation & Terraform.

▶ Ability to horizontally scale both on-premise and cloud infrastructure based on performance needs with cost optimization in mind

▶ You are an expert in Python/Bash and you are proficient in Linux.

▶ Strong experience working in AWS environment and other server virtualization technologies (AWS Redshift & AWS EMR)

▶ Proficiency in developing contingency plans like reliable backups and restore procedures

▶ Experience working with monitoring stack like sensu

▶ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree
