Java Developer

Designs, develops, and implements Big Data streaming applications with scala/java to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies using standard software frameworks, perform coding and testing and operational support Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and develops fixes. Ingest and process streaming data sets using appropriate technologies including but not limited to, AWS Cloud Spark, and Kafka.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience building applications leveraging Java building scalable backend services and/or batch processes.
• Experience in messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience using SQL\NoSQL DB technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, Mongo DB, etc.) and in memory caching and searching technologies
• Experience deploying fault-tolerant distributed systems on Linux in a cloud environment and familiar with cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
• Hands on experience in python a plus.
• Demonstrable appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies
• Experience working in fast paced development environments with often many unknowns
• Demonstrable excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
