Job Description :

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Modernizations and Upgrades engineering group within the Customer Service team. The Modernizations and Upgrades team continually provides system and equipment upgrades to existing and new customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering projects through to completion, building relationships with customers, and undertaking opportunity in a growing industry and team.

  • Tasks and Qualifications:

    This is What You Will do in This Role: 1. Work and collaborate with a team of engineers continually 2. Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for modernization and upgrades on existing material handling systems within and outside of the existing installation base 3. Perform site audits to collect project and solution information 4. Complete the design of complex systems that integrate mechanical hardware, controls components, and software 5. Configure products for required applications 6. Design custom solutions to unique project challenges and needs 7. Develop and complete engineering sketches, fabrication, and layout drawings for multiple types of modernization scopes 8. Follow Purchase Request and Order Entry processes to purchase third part equipment and release assemblies for manufacturing 9. Drive activities related to ensuring new equipment is built to specification 10. Support on-site installation and engineering commissioning efforts as required 11. Provide technical support for other groups such as Estimating, Sales, Solution Development, Installation Field Operations 12. Assist in creation of operating and maintenance instructions and generation spare parts lists as needed 13. Complete assigned training courses as required 14. Work with team members and customers to solve problems and troubleshoot equipment on-site 15. Regularly report on project portfolio performance including but not limited to: on-time delivery, budget, quality, risks

    What We are Looking For: 1. BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field of engineering 2. (2-5) years of industry related experience or mechanical engineering experience preferred 3. Mechanical equipment operation or ability to learn to maintain and repair material handling systems 4. Knowledge of CAD design software including AutoCAD 5. Ability to solve complex design issues and implement effective and cost-efficient solutions 6. Proven communications skills, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team of solution-oriented professionals 7. Organization, analytical, reasoning and problem solving 8. Maintaining accurate and detailed records 9. Understanding and following directions 10. Working under pressure, meeting inflexible deadlines, and maintaining composure 11. Travels up to 15% to different customer or our compnay locations 12. Capable of providing technical assistance to support staff and other employees 13. Represent the organization as an internal contact and possibly a key external contact
