Job Description :

Responsiblties:

  • Works with the Digital Branch Coordinator librarian and PR Manager in developing communication objectives and goals for DBRL websites and services that support the overall strategy of the library.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains DBRL websites, systems, and services with an emphasis on responsive design principles.
  • Works with IT to follow best practices for website security to identify and mitigate security threats.
  • Responsible for maintaining, purchasing, and configuring all domain names owned by DBRL.
  • Works continually to optimize user experience. Develops and maintains global standards and guidelines for style and content of the websites.
  • Engages in ongoing education and proactive research to determine industry best practices and uncover new methodologies/technologies.
  • Maintains an awareness of trends in public library digital services.
  • Reviews current websites and makes recommendations for website redesigns, promotion of the digital branch, and collaboration opportunities with community organizations.
  • Collaborates with graphic designers on website designs  to ensure content is usable and accessible.
  • Provides oversight to ensure that website content is compliant with current accessibility, security, and privacy standards.
  • Meets regularly with content owners to prioritize current work on the sites and plans for future developments.
  • Responds to requirements of website content owners by developing appropriate displays, text, and imagery for the sites consistent with established guidelines. Support will include activities such as creating web graphics, editing photographs, and creating and editing web-based multimedia files.
