Architectural Project Manager

Position Overview - Ei Design, Incorporated

The Architectural Project Manager is responsible for managing architectural projects from conception to completion. He/she will apply his/her experience in: commercial and industrial architectural along with construction documents, field observation, building materials, specifications, construction techniques with building codes, and zoning. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, he/she will be coordinating with MEP and Structural Engineers. He/she will be responsible for communication and coordination with assigned clients. Participates in all phases of project development including full technical support of the architecture as well as the incorporation of all disciplines involved with the design. The role includes serving as the lead technical architect on all projects.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicates and coordinates project requirements with the project team and consultants.
  • Has excellent technical knowledge and management skills to plan, direct and monitor all aspects of projects.
  • Monitors and tracks project progress, invoicing, and budget, and is responsible for overall project performance and profitability.
  • Responsible for the development and coordination of the drawings and specifications including; program compliance, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments, and product research.
  • Organize and direct internal production team(s) to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner.
  • Perform and/or provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of the project.
  • Provides design and architectural leadership associated with public sector / governmental clients on new facilities, additions or for those being remodeled;
  • Oversee, review, and assist in the design and production of instruments of service to deliver our work to clients;
  • Participate in the development of quality control procedures to accurately complete technical documents. Recommend updated procedures and methods where appropriate;
  • Attend meetings with clients and promote positive client contact with current and prospective clients.
  • Position Requirements

    Bachelor s Degree in Architecture with three to seven years of progressively responsible experience in a related position.


  • Bachelors degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Years of Experience/Other Requirements

  • 5 years experience in architectural practice with management experience in all phases of projects through post-occupancy.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration.
  • NCARB registration preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Thorough understanding of project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of complex scope.
  • Possess strong hand and advanced CAD drafting skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
