Assistant General Manager

Overview

Lead and direct team members on shifts as assigned by General Manager. Ensure all quality standards for products and service are met daily. Make guest-focused decisions that cultivate guest and brand loyalty. Anticipate guests needs, follow up in a timely manner, and ensure guest satisfaction. Ensure daily cash counts and accounting practices are accurate and processed according to opening and closing procedures. Monitor sales forecasts, supply levels, and labor deployment. Support the General Manager in the overall operations and development of team. Perform additional duties as instructed by the General Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure positive guest and team relations by living and upholding company values
  • Lead team to deliver premium guest service according to steps of service and standard operating procedures
  • Answer questions about daily and custom offerings and pricing with confidence
  • Immediately identify and recover guests who are dissatisfied with service and/or product
  • Prepare daily communication and lunch/break schedules, Manage and ensure breaks/lunches are taken in accordance to state law
  • Take, process and communicate orders with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Inventory, order, and receive retail, paper, office supplies, marketing materials, etc.
  • Perform administrative office tasks, i.e. approving invoices, scanning paperwork, etc.
  • Prepare for and recover from peak guest demands by adjusting labor plan and deployment as necessary
  • Conduct tastings and consultations with guests as needed
  • Assist guests with all point of sales transactions, i.e. voids, refunds, discounts
  • Communicate and address team member, service, and/or product issues with the General Manager
  • Manage, coach, assist, and train team members as necessary
  • Perform shifts as scheduled to open and close the bakery
  • Assist culinary team with shifts, production, and menu transitions
  • Ensure all food is prepared, handled and stored according to all required food safety code standards
  • Ensure compliance with all SusieCakes policies, practices, and procedures, i.e. safety, equipment use, food handling
  • Perform dishwasher duties as needed
  • Assist culinary team as needed
Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in hospitality or food and beverage industry
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Previous quick service food handling experience in either the a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to safely utilize all bakery equipment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team building skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Ability to train, coach, and counsel team members
  • Exposure to financial and operational accountabilities
  • Associates or Bachelors degree with a focus in Business or Hospitality preferred
  • Frequent walking, kneeling, bending and reaching overhead
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
