Assistant Merchandiser, Calvin Klein North America Appare

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Merchandiser for Calvin Klein North America Apparel is responsible for assisting in product strategy and brand growth. He or she is responsible for helping the team with the development of the assortment, formulating merchandise strategies and facilitating department deliverables that support in meeting these objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Line Matrix (line list) creation and maintenance
  • Partnership with showroom coordinator to fulfill sample requests and prepare for meetings
  • Organize and add pictures into Assortment guides and additional selling tools as needed
  • Sample check-in, hang, organize by season/delivery
  • Ownership of Change Log and weekly follow-up to ensure system accuracy
  • Review weekly selling reports to identify best/worst sellers
  • Pull best-selling styles for monthly/quarterly best-seller meetings
  • Participate in meeting, note pending issues for follow-up
  • Assist in preparation for key milestone deliverables
  • Presentation boards
  • Pulling proto or SMS samples
  • Showroom Setup
  • Support in assortment meetings, capture all changes and follow-up with the team
  • Support with late add requests from inception through execution
  • Collaborate with design and sourcing partners to confirm assortment details
  • Facilitate product changes and establish pricing targets
  • Proficiency in Merchant systems to ensure accuracy of XPC and line lists (run bi-weekly)
  • Provide sales teams with product knowledge, serve as an informational resource
  • Attend WIPS meetings and ensure follow-up of pending issues
  • Understanding of the consumer; research and support with competitor landscape analysis
  • Price-point analysis: bi-annually
  • In-Store Competitive Analysis: monthly
  • Assists in product vision and building the merchandising line plan
  • Responsible for adhering to calendar and critical deadlines
  • Support Merchant team with notes/pictures in meetings
  • Ensure proper follow-up and sense of urgency on projects
  • Build strong partnerships with the cross-functional team

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 1-2 years merchandising experience


Education: Bachelors degree in merchandising or related field

Skills:

  • Detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • High level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability
