Assistant Professor - Infectious Diseases

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for Assistant Professor, tenure track. Duties include, but are not limited to conducting original research on endocarditis, other endovascular infection and infections transmitted by injection drug use with a focus on the domestic setting. The position includes inpatient Infectious Diseases consultation and patient care, approximately 2 months per year and outpatient General Infectious Diseases care, and the teaching and mentoring of Infectious Diseases post-doctoral fellows and instruction of medical residents and students in the context of clinical care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Established research experience in Infectious Diseases in endovascular infections or infection in the setting of injection drug use is required. Evidence of successful research funding is preferred. Clinical experience and interest in general Infectious Diseases in the inpatient and outpatient setting is required. Interest in care of HIV and infections associated with injection drug use is also preferred.Medical Degree required. Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease-trained physician who is board eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases.
