Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Associate Director of Systems develops, manages, and coordinates the automated systems, business processes, workflow of information, and supervises the business operations staff within the Office of Admissions. This position coordinates system maintenance for all admissions systems including organizing, planning, testing, and approving all aspects of operation and systems modifications. The Associate Director supervises all migration of data and represents admissions on all technology related committees.
The Associate Director of Systems coordinates the adoption and implementation of new software as well as creates reports that will enhance the ability to recruit, attract, enroll, and maintain new students. This position creates and oversees security protocols for processing sensitive information during the admissions process. This position also manages the day to day operations of the processing staff in the office.


N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Graduation from a two year technical college with a major in an Information Technology field and one year in the information technology field related to the positions role; or graduation from a four year college or university and one year experience in the information technology field related to the positions role; or graduation from a four year college or university with a major in an Information Technology area. Related information technology experience may be substituted year for year for the required education.


Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

Considerable knowledge of technology, operating systems, and the capabilities and limitations of computers is necessary

Requires thorough knowledge and proficiency in Windows operating systems, MS Office projects, MS Outlook, web browsers, web-page applications, HTML experience and the Internet

Spreadsheet, database programs and other computer applications to create databases and application transactions is needed

Ability to analyze data and situations, reason logically, and draw valid conclusions and have good communications skills


Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Experience in technical and analytical work in analyzing and developing technical solutions and advanced work in providing business processing solutions

Ability to manage projects that require directing the work of others and utilizes skills to make modifications and develop solutions using existing technologies

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail while handling several projects at once

Ability to multitask

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Strong interpersonal skills
