Overview The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis supports the U.S. Department of the Treasury in key business lines related to financial management for the federal government. We are seeking an Associate Java Full Stack Developer for the TTS applications. This position is part of the Treasury Services Division and is located in the St. Louis office of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The Associate Java Full Stack Developer will provide software development, maintenance and production support for multiple systems used in the US Treasury’s business lines. This individual works under the supervision of the assigned project manager and works under the guidance of a Senior Java Web Developer and/or a Lead Java Developer. Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance to support application defect resolution.
  • Develop and test software enhancements and application code as assigned.
  • Provide time and effort estimates, for assigned work, as requested.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining program support documentation, including test plans, capacity plans, and other assigned technical documentation.
  • Execute project plans using accepted system development life cycle concepts.
  • Use and apply technical/business knowledge on both the job and future planning of job deliverables.
  • Provide technical assistance in diagnosing and resolving production incidents and determining the root cause and associated long term resolution for those incidents.
  • Assist in the maintenance of development and test environments/data to support problem resolution.
  • Research and remain current with industry best practices.
  • Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field of study, or commensurate experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with developing Java based software applications.
  • Ability to understand and diagnose system level issues to the appropriate component level, and then to debug and provide defect resolution as required.
  • Exposure to modern open source frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, Spring)
  • Exposure to current development technologies and methodologies (Microservices, Cloud computing, Agile)
  • Ability to use and understand the purpose and use of development tools used for a specific project and how to get the most out of the tools.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade and/or salary.
  • Position requires US Citizen or lawful permanent resident with three or more years of US residency
