AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Description : 

• The AWS Cloud support team is looking for an energetic Cloud engineer who is excited to learn new technologies and work with different teams to help create, manage, and optimize AWS Cloud Application environments.
• This team works closely with the application and infrastructure teams to help deliver reliable and high-performing cloud environments.

Primary duties include:

• Work with AWS native technologies such as EC2, S3, Auto Scaling, VPC, Fargate, EMR, EKS, Lambda, AppSync, SQS, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Redshift and AWS Transfer
• Assist (and learn) the AWS Cloud support team with building, operating, and maintaining a scalable and cost-effective cloud environment for application teams. This involves understanding application requirements to ensure the implementation of proper designs, ensuring that necessary logging and monitoring for applications is present, and creating detective compliance automation using tagging for cost optimization.
• Independently work with different application teams to help diagnose and fix application issues related to cloud environment infrastructure.
• Create or review Terraform templates that automate the entire infrastructure for the application while following standards.
• Create Python or Linux Shell scripts to automate manual tasks.
• Collaborate with the cloud engineering and security team on cloud projects.
• Research and evaluate new automation technologies and look for opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency within Cloud environments.

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, other STEM field, or equivalent work experience, or AWS Associate level certification or better (Solution Architect, Developer, or SysOps).
• 4+ years of application development or preferably 1-3 years of AWS/DevOps experience.
• Basic understanding of web applications, databases (relational and NoSQL), messaging (MQ, EMS, Kafka), and version control systems (Bit Bucket, Git).
• Understanding of Bamboo, Jenkins and OpenShift for deployment pipelines
• Strong desire to learn new technologies.
• JSON and Rest API skills
• Hands-on experience in some of these areas: CI/CD, Terraform, AWS Code Pipeline, AWS Lambda, EC2, EKS, RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Redshift and AWS Transfer
• Scripting experience with Python
