Business Development Strategist

Tetra Techs Disaster Response Divisionis currently hiring a Business Development Strategistto work in our Maitland, Florida office.

The Tetra Tech Disaster Response Division specializes in assisting local governments recover from disasters such as hurricanes, ice storms, wildfires, and other severe weather events. The Business Development Strategist will help chart the course for future growth for the company. Job tasks include identifying goals that Tetra Tech Post Disaster Programs should be focused on and helping to take the steps needed to ensure that Tetra Tech has what it needs in order to achieve those goals. The appropriate candidate needs to have strong leadership skills in order to motivate staff to embrace action plans and new strategies and to ensure that the staff works together effectively. Tetra Techs Business Development Strategists will work closely with the marketing and operations teams. The ideal candidate must be aware of business trends and be prepared to adjust strategies based on changes in the marketplace. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with management to define requirements, tasks, and resources associated with business development strategy
  • Develop win strategy to formulate an integrated business development and capture approach
  • Execute Business Development Strategy, Capture and Growth plans
  • Manage, track and capture business development pipeline
  • Communication to management on strategy/project development, timelines, and results
  • Identify and propose potential business relationships, partners, and opportunities.
  • Respond to clients or prospective clients RFPs, RFQs, RFIs
  • Research and cultivate an accurate perception of the organizations mission and goals
  • Create informative presentations for delivering information to potential clients at client meetings, industry exhibits, and conferences.
  • Collaborate on client strategy and goal definition for success
  • Keep pace with search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and development.
  • Collaborate with leadership to close new business deals by coordinating requirements with business operations.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum 5 years Business Development
  • Proven track record of winning work by developing relationships and expertise in areas of capture, assessing win probability, developing capture strategy and building winning partnerships
  • The successful candidate should have successfully developed and executed digital marketing campaigns using various digital media including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc.
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • Possess an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers; able to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm while communicating with internal and external clients.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Technical writing capabilities.
  • Must demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and highly organized with high-level attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Flexible style, able to immediately adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff.
