Business Operations Analyst

About the teamThe Business Operations (Biz Ops) team enables our Core Technology organization to run efficiently and scale by handling budget, contracts, vendors and strategic planning. The Biz Ops team is embedded within Core Tech and acts as an interface to other ZG shared services teams including Procurement, FP&A, AP, Legal, and Recruiting.

About the role

The Core Tech Biz Ops team is looking for an experienced, ambitious Business Operations Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding current spend, financial commitments, and forecasting upcoming spend along with business needs. You will be managing our technology vendors and holding them accountable to their commitments. Responsible for building new business processes and streamlining our existing processes. Be a subject matter expert on our Core Tech budget, project spend, purchasing, and strategic planning processes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Negotiates pricing, facilitates contracts, and manages IT supplier relationships with the mentorship of senior team members
  • Owns and maintains the broader IT budget and associated actuals, tracking spend by vendor, team, project, and business unit
  • Analyzes build vs buy and lease vs buy opportunities, understanding delineation of operating and capital expenditures, working with Finance partners
  • Provides fact-based recommendations to senior management
  • Leads projects and process improvements across Core Technology teams

Who you are

The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented person with a demonstrated track record of ownership of IT supplier and financial portfolios with the following skills:

  • At least 3 years experience in budget, project and vendor management, preferably within large IT organizations
  • Strong negotiating skills with the ability to adapt and improvise
  • Superb communication and writing skills
  • Ability to understand business and technical requirements from internal customers
  • Demonstrable ability to influence and build alignment with a diverse group of partners
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelors Degree in MIS, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
