Job Description:

Seeking a Business Analyst position to support the Social Security Online Accounting and Reporting System (SSOARS) project. GDIT provides Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and operational support services for the SSOARS effort. SSOARS is SSA's automated accounting system of record based on Oracle's Federal Financials Software (Oracle E-Business Suite).


  • Change Management, Quality Assurance, and software life-cycle testing experience.
  • Work with SSA customer to refine and validate enhancement requirements for the accounting reporting system
  • Write technical documentation such as strategic planning, Help pages, procedures, and user operation guides
  • Gathered new requirements from Financial Management Teams for the Purchase Log functionality and reports
  • Review and update documentation for the SSOARS Financial Information System (SSOARS FIS), a reporting system for the accounting system
  • Documenting in various forms the process specifications. Reviewing requirements to determine conformance with SSA policies for developing the system and identifying potential integration and challenges. Troubleshoot and resolve issues for the following SSA applications: SSOARS FIS, FOCUS, SSA-273, and online purchase log.
  • Handle SSOARS FIS help desk calls from system users located throughout the country in SSA field offices
  • Handle Social Security Electronic Remittance System (SERS) help desk calls for system users located in SSA field offices.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 5 + years of directly related computer systems business analytics/documentation/customer support experience.
  • Knowledge of standard system development life cycle requirements.
  • Experience gathering and defining business requirements for system development.

  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a multi-functional team environment.
