Business Systems Analyst

We are searching for our next Business Systems Analyst who will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, support, training and maintenance of various business systems. The role also includes researching opportunities for improvement within the organization and recommending procedural changes and new technologies.

You will be responsible for:

  • Investigating and responding to requests for technical assistance (1) by phone or email, (2) using remote support tools, and (3) in person.
  • Conducting individual or group trainings of business systems on a regular basis.
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies, trends and best-practices to make informed recommendations for new tools and technologies.
  • Collaborating within the Information Technology Group to help (1) establish Walsh s business systems strategy, goals and objectives, and (2) promote a business systems vision.
  • Contributing to the planning and organization of the Information Technology Group by recognizing opportunities for improvement within the organization and recommending procedural changes and new technologies.
  • Representing IT at construction project lifecycle meetings (kick-offs and debriefs) to streamline communications between Information Technology, Operations, and other departments of the organization.
  • Planning and executing projects as defined in the IT Roadmap.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user-needs and formulating strategies to ensure that business systems parallel overall business strategies.
  • Setting stakeholder expectations regarding the maintenance and evolution of business systems.
  • Maintaining and administering the configuration of various business systems.
  • Managing the deployment of updates to the business systems, including patch application to a staging environment, system testing, patch certification, change communication, and deployment to production.
  • Writing detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to deploy, develop or modify business systems.
  • Developing and maintaining transactional and business intelligence reports and reporting environments.
  • Maintaining and updating business system training materials and related documentation.
  • Managing software vendors, including developing and maintaining relationships, tracking issues and resolutions, and coordinating custom development activities.
  • Serving as chairperson of business systems-focused user groups.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Preferably hold a Bachelor s degree in Construction Engineering Management, Business or Management Information Systems; or equivalent experience and education.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively to users on different levels of technical understanding in both oral and written formats.
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Online Collaboration platform, strongly preferred.
  • Possess an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Teams Unified Communications platform, strongly preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of SSRS and Crystal Reports, preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of Viewpoint and other industry-specific software packages, preferred.
  • Have the ability to perform independently and demonstrate good decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize, and schedule activities and effectively allocate resources.
  • Be a positive team player who is skilled in efficiency, organization, and multi-tasking, while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform independently and make good decisions.
  • Demonstrate an ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
  • Possess a valid Driver License and reliable transportation.
