Clinical Assistant Professor, Oral Medicine

The UNC Adams School of Dentistry is currently seeking applicants for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine. Responsibilities and opportunities include directing courses that integrate medicine and dentistry in the current curriculum with plans to incorporate this in the school?s new curriculum model in Foundations of Practice. In addition, scholarly activities, service, participation in the School?s Dental Faculty Practice, teaching in an integrated curriculum system that includes baccalaureate (dental hygiene), pre-doctoral and post-doctoral education and across traditional departmental lines and in multidisciplinary teams is required. Transformational learning should be fostered and informed by interdisciplinary and translational research, teaching, scholarship, and creative expression.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach Oral Medicine both didactically and clinically, in a manner that incorporates adult learning theory, evidence-based oral health care, innovation in student learning, and critical thinking. The preferred candidate will have experience in interprofessional curricular elements and the integration of basic science concepts with clinical dentistry; a demonstrated commitment to working in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment; and must be committed to the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.Candidates must possess a DDS/DMD from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent; completion of a CODA accredited Oral Medicine program and be eligible for Board Certification in Oral Medicine and for a North Carolina dental license or Academic licensure.
