The Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute (JRI) is dedicated to identifying and addressing the most confounding social challenges that face individuals, families, and communities within our educational and human services systems.

The Trauma Center at JRI is a nationally renowned 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to help individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by trauma and adversity to re-establish a sense of safety and predictability in the world. The Trauma Center provides state-of-the-art therapeutic care through our community based outpatient clinic, conducts cutting edge research focused on delineating the impact of trauma and adversity on human development and evaluating innovative interventions for traumatic stress, and educates professionals through local and national training initiatives. While the Trauma Center addresses the full range of traumatic events, from accidents and disaster response to treatment of child abuse and domestic violence, the Center specializes in the complex behavioral and psychiatric response to exposure to chronic and repeated interpersonal victimization (e.g., abuse, assault, community violence) often occurring in families compromised by socioeconomic adversity, community violence, criminal activity, severe and persistent mental illness, and substance abuse.

We seek a Clinical Director who has a demonstrated commitment to social justice, and who will provide vision and leadership in the expansion of both outpatient clinical services and innovative community-based partnerships. The CD will provide overall direction for all Trauma Center clinical functions, including:

  • Clinical personnel: recruiting, interviewing, and training new clinical staff, including providing staff orientation around clinical policies and procedures.
  • Clinical intake: overseeing intake process; managing case assignment and responding to consumer needs associated with the intake process.
  • Utilization Review: managing quality control of clinical paperwork through chart and utilization review to ensure compliance with Joint Commission and insurance standards.
  • Insurance: serving as liaison with JRI Billing Departments and managing insurance issues
  • General administrative duties: Managing daily operations of the clinic, including staff clinical needs/questions, completing staff/JRI evaluations, manage medical records requests.
  • Clinical team: facilitating weekly clinical team meetings, providing clinical leadership to staff to support professional development/team building.
  • Coordinating child and adult trauma evaluation program: screening referrals; assign cases and track completion.
  • Supervision: providing weekly clinical supervision for clinicians/trainees
  • Direct clinical service: carry an individual fee-for-service caseload.

  • Licensed (or license eligible) in Massachusetts in Psychology, Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
  • Have post-graduate experience conducting therapy and supervision, and have worked in an outpatient setting for at least 2 years;
  • Be an MA-licensed LISCW, LMHC, Ph.D. or Psy.D.;
  • Training and experience delivering/supervising trauma-focused evidence-based practices (e.g. ARC, TF-CBT, EMDR, CPP, CPT, and/or PE).
