Shift: Day Shift

Required Security Clearance: None, but a TS clearance is preferred.

Required Certifications: None

Required Education: Bachelors degree in technology or the sciences, or industry-equivalent experience required.

Required Experience: US Citizen Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

5 years experience in system engineering demonstrating depth of technical understanding with database and infrastructure support.

5 years of hands on experience with hands on experience AWS architecture and design

3+ years of working with Command Line Interface tools with a focus on automation in both Linux and other platforms


The Cloud Migration Specialist will provide hands on technical support for migrating a large-scale web and database platform from a client hosted data center to the AWS Cloud. The candidate will work with the existing team to analyze what portions of the application will be re-engineered, and what portions of the application will be migrated as is.

Functional Responsibility:

The Cloud Migration Specialist will provide the following:

  • Provide best practice design recommendations for migrating an application from an on-premise location to the AWS Cloud.
  • Design a highly available, scalable cloud infrastructure with performance and uptime as main areas of concern.
  • Asses cost vs performance to ensure the application runs smoothly while providing cost savings.
  • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for to ensure that existing design requirements are met after the cloud migration.
  • Work with team members to identify what custom changes may be needed and the level of effort required for migrating the current on-premises application to the AWS cloud.


Strong written and communication skills.

Familiarity with Scripting in Bash and automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef.

Proven ability to work independently and as a team member.

In depth experience with multiple system and relational databases (postgres, Aurora, Oracle) in an AWS infrastructure.

Demonstrated ability to write technical documents with fine attention to detail.

3+ years DevOps experience with CI/CD tools.

Candidate should have ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly.


Familiarity with Pega Platform.

Experience working with APIs.

An understanding of DevOps best practices.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.
