Community Liaison

Learn4Life – San Diego, CA

Under the leadership of the Regional Administrator and as a member of the Community Outreach and Partnerships Team, the Community Liaison will establish and support growth of collaborative relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to engage students and promote the organizations vision.
Responsibilities/Duties:

Essential Functions:
Help establish and maintain a regional network of relationships with community organizations, businesses, and individuals to promote Learn4Life educational solutions and engage students
Support in planning, development and implementation of career pathways and programs
Initiate work based learning opportunities such as guest speakers, job shadowing, work place tours, and service projects
Facilitate and maintain a program of career preparation and internships for students
Maintain professional memberships and attend conferences and events to keep current with state standards and regulations in CTE and with the California Workforce Association
Serve as local expert on Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act governance structure, youth service providers and programs
Utilize established tools and guidelines to engage and enroll students
Distribute information and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in representing Learn4Life
Assist in planning and implementation of events
Support coordination of community activities
Maintain documentation and report on progress related to community and student outreach activities
Utilize established reporting mechanisms, attend regular meetings and provide written reports to management
Participate in meetings
Collaborate with other departments and division to meet objective
Adhere to attendance policies
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Physical Requirements:
Mental Demands: Ability to process a large volume of requests and data
Talking; especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Average Hearing; Average Visual Abilities;
Physical Strength; Capable of walking for extended period of time. Exerts up to 25 Ibs. of force occasionally, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.
Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures; constant interruptions.
TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties. ADDITIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Indoor and outdoor environment
Mental Demands: Ability to handle moderate to high work periods and deadlines
Some evening recruitment and/or evening meetings; occasionally working on Saturday and/or Sunday, contact with staff, students, families, teachers, administrators, media, representatives of colleges/universities, community agencies the general public and community members;
Contact with dissatisfied individuals

Minimum Qualification, Job Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum 2 years of experience working with diverse communities in a public education program or comparable private sector program
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Email)
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Bilingual skills desirable
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks based on urgency
Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
Ability to collaborate and work with community representatives and school administration
