Compliance Analyst

About the Position

The Compliance Program Manager will play a key role in establishing and maintaining WatchGuards compliance program. The role will be both strategic and tactical and will directly impact how WatchGuard implements and matures our Information Security, ISO-27001, and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) programs. The Compliance Program Manager must be able to have the ability to hit the ground running, balance and manage competing resources and priorities, understand how to navigate through ambiguous situations, and navigate the unknowns.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has broad technical knowledge, can see applications and systems from a product perspective, and understands desired business outcomes. The ideal candidate will dive into our products, applications, processes, and teams to help identify, define, and connect systems/applications to policies and operating procedures. The Program Manager will build strong partnerships with Legal, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Support.

You must be solutions-oriented, able to identify and mitigate risks, recognize dependencies, and tackle issues. In particular, the Program Manager must be able to deliver and get stuff done. Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee execution of the IT information security strategy, and roadmap to ensure compliance with external requirements (GDPR, ISO, etc.)
  • Establish proper escalation channels and elevate issues to senior management for timely resolution.
  • Assist the core IT operations team architect solutions, policies, and procedures for remediation.
  • Act as a project manager facilitating technical security and IT solutions implementations jointly with the information security team and core IT operations team.
  • Work cross functionally with teams to ensure creation and follow through of processes and internal controls that play a role in the success of compliance initiatives.
  • Establish tools and techniques for control owners to translate IT compliance standards into easy to understand requirements.
  • Develop and oversee internal control systems and procedures to capture artifacts required for audits.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
  • Assess the business future ventures to identify possible compliance risks. Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Facilitate and manage external and internal audits.
  • Compile control testing data on a monthly basis for regulatory use

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Able to effectively communicate technical concepts, designs, and regulatory requirements to non-technical stakeholders
  • Working knowledge and understanding of GDPR and ISO27001
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles and cloud computing environments
  • Must have the ability to build solid work relationships and partnerships
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills; able to document specifications, organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and data to make appropriate recommendations
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with multiple business owners, locally and internationally
  • Operates with urgency, focus and discipline
  • PMP and CISSP is a plus

Experience:

  • A BA/BS degree in MIS or related technical discipline is required
  • 5+ years in a technical role
  • 3+ years of Information Security experience
  • Proven experience performing technical assessments and audits of SOC, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, etc
  • Proven experience performing and/or participating in security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
  • Experience designing and managing IT controls and processes and directly working with auditors
  • Proven experience communicating both written and verbal at all levels
