About the Role As a Demand Planner, you will be responsible for evaluating sales history, inventory position, open sales orders and determining a demand forecast for defined product groupings for the company. This position will include regular interaction with all levels of Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply chain to ensure product strategy, contract changes, market dynamics, and product supply are accurately reflected in the demand forecast. What you will do (Essential Functions)
  • Collect and analyze all data pertinent to creating the sales forecast (historical sales, market trends, seasonality, promotions, and eventually tier 1 account POS and inventory levels) and develop demand plan
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to seek input and align on consensus forecast that drive open to buy plan based on established inventory targets and advise management of issues and significant variances between existing forecasts and actual shipments
  • Develop forecast accuracy measurements and is accountable for monthly and rolling three month forecast accuracy improvement
  • Reconcile significant variances, define and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions. Monitor abnormal demand and take corrective action to prevent re-occurrence
  • Improve standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and provide input into S&OP process (i.e. inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs)
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process and create ad hoc reporting as needed
Who you are (Qualifications)
  • 3+ years experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Must have experience in Sales & Operations Planning process and Demand Planning system or other software related to demand planning is preferred
  • Strong analytical, organization and advanced Excel skills
  • Works well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Physical Standards
  • This position requires frequently sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing
  • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key
  • Able to periodically participate in the inspection of company machinery and operations
  • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing ****93 pounds or less
