About Edge: Edge will be the tallest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere, offering a variety of thrilling experiences: a full panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline, a glass floor to stand on, 9 foot wall of angled glass to lean on and dining on the 101st floor.

About Hudson Yards: Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since Rockefeller Center. The site will include more than 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space, state-of-the-art office towers, more than 100 shops including New Yorks first Neiman Marcus, and a collection of restaurants curated by Chef Thomas Keller. Responsibilities:

The Director of Operation Planning will monitor current practices and recommend more efficient and cost-effective ways of designing operational processes and determine how to best utilize work force, technology and other resources to achieve maximum productivity within budgetary constraints while delivering the best customer experience. As the Director at Related Companies, you would help translate ideas into tangible innovation opportunities that focus on strategy within operations. Working on a diverse set of projects, you would flex your analytical, consulting, process and system optimization skills in service of a key goal: to make an enjoyable, more seamless experience for our customers, at every stage of their visit.

Responsibilities also include:

Customer Experience

  • Identify and collect data to be used to improve visitor experience and operational efficiencies
  • Develops metrics and data collection procedures to understand the customer experience
  • Establishes methodologies and metrics to monitor trends and to identify potential problems that require resolution.
  • Conducts studies and journey mapping to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and customer experience analyzing labor schedules and costs, customer feedback with surveys, social media reviews and review websites

Operations Planning

  • Observes current operations and processes and gains understanding of all elements influencing work flow.
  • Recommends alternative methodologies to existing practices that will maximize efficiency and that are cost effective.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to drive continual improvements
  • Analyze and make recommendations to management with respect to operation efficiency of overtime, labor utilization and general operating practices to maximize efficiency and productivity

Project Management

  • Scopes and project manages solutions that will enhance the customer experience and improve operational efficiencies including scheduling, costs, and return on investment.
  • Develops and oversees implementation of process improvement programs.
  • Partners with key functional groups that are part of implementation (HR, IT, Operations, etc.) to assist in developing/revising Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications Qualifications:

Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor s Degree, preferably in a related field, required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in related field with 5 years of management experience involving problem solving, organizational design, operations and analysis, required.

Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience working in a corporate environment is highly preferred.
  • Effectively manage conflicting priorities, which involve organizing workflow.
  • Warm and personable self-starter.
  • Project management and business analytics experience
  • Experience with visitor research, data collection and analysis
  • Experience leading organizational change management
  • Detail oriented and able to effectively manage time
  • Available for overtime as needed

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a large 1m + visitor attraction.
