DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH OPERATIONS, School of Public Health, Community Health Sciences

The Director of Research Operations will oversee research operations for Dr. Richard Saitz, PI. The focus of this position is to support an active research program, maintain existing external support, pursue new funding opportunities, facilitate the successful implementation and maintenance of ongoing research activities, create greater recognition within Boston University and national/international research communities, enhance efficiencies, participate in the strategic planning of the research agenda, and promote an informed and collaborative work environment for faculty and staff. The focus of the research is on substance use disorders (alcohol and other drugs) and HIV. Research primarily takes place in collaboration with Boston Medical Center and other clinical sites, as well as community sites, and is focused on improving care for vulnerable populations.

Required Skills

Master s degree and 8+ years experience required. This incumbent will have extensive clinical and health services research experience, affording the ability to advise, implement, oversee, and strategize to optimize research funding and productivity. Along with the PI/, this position s primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the research program. The incumbent must have strong analytical skills and be well versed in Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and be able to interpret basic analytic output, and be able to balance a number of different projects at once and prioritize as needed. This person must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. S/he must have experience managing personnel.
