Director of Social Media & Digital Consulting

Brafton – Boston, MA

Currently, we're seeking a Director of Social Media & Digital Consulting. This role oversees two related and synergistic teams: Social Media & Promotions and Consulting.

The right person for this role has demonstrated exceptional aptitude for strong, thoughtful team leadership in a digital agency environment (a B2B focus is preferred), as well as specific experience and success in relevant product areas (more on that below, though please check out our catalog for specific details on our Social Media & Promotions and Consulting offerings).

This role represents our investment in significant social and digital consulting product development in 2019. The selected candidate will be working to refine and evolve the department's offerings while ensuring continued smooth operations across day-to-day deliverables and processes.

Please note that this role is based in our Boston office. Brafton will consider relocation support for the right candidate.


The Director of Social Media & Digital Consulting has demonstrable hands-on and leadership experience, knowledge and opinions in the following areas:

  • Content Marketing, PR or Advertising generally.
  • Organic Custom Social Media Strategies - both long-term and campaign-specific.
  • Paid Social Media Strategy creation, management and optimization.
  • PPC and syndication campaigns creation, management and optimization.
  • Backlink building.
  • Influencer Relations campaigns and network building.
  • Marketing Research & Persona Development.
  • Marketing Automation (Email Marketing, specifically).
  • Website Redesign
  • Hands-on research, planning and project management, ownership of coordination and collaboration among the UX and technical development teams.
  • Product ideation, product beta-testing and deployment.
  • SOW Creation and Proposal Writing.
  • Our team utilizes several platforms and technologies, which we would expect candidates to have experience in and knowledge of. They include but aren't limited to:

  • Sprout
  • HubSpot
  • Marketo
  • Pardot
  • Heatmapping Tools (Like Hotjar)
  • Site Crawling Tools (Screaming Frog)
  • Google AdWords

  • Managing and tracking team assignments, allocation and delivery.
  • Overseeing (and working with members of the exec team) on team resource review and calibrations.
  • Ensuring efficacy of strategy, approach and process around all team products and deliverables.
  • Collaborating and assisting with Social Media & Promotions or Consulting SOW creation at POS and for existing clients.
  • Collaborating with Brafton's exec team and/or leading on Special Projects and Pilot Products.
  • Running impactful weekly team/department meetings.
  • Directly managing, training and mentoring direct reports.
  • Spearheading the development of a team culture that promotes creativity and constant learning.

  • Exceptional communication skills with staff, colleagues and clients.
  • Expertise in proposal writing and SOW creation.
  • Exceptional Brafton product knowledge and deep understanding of our production processes.
  • The ability to think outside the box and arrive at new or customized approaches to our processes and deliverables.
  • The ability to manage many projects at once.
  • The ability and desire to mentor and assist staff with:
  • Objective tasks
  • Internal and client-facing communication and situational management
  • Understanding and furthering a client's strategy in an actionable way.
  • The ability to provide clear and meaningful feedback on work.
  • Diligent record keeping habits.
  • Great people skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with our proprietary software as well as industry tools.
  • The ability to work at a computer during standard working hours.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities for the requirements listed in the Experience & Background section above.

  • 15 percent client communication
  • 20 percent internal communication
  • 50 percent operational team planning and coordination
  • 15 percent misc.
  • NOTE: Some travel may be required for client visits.
