ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Director, Partner Programs reports to the VP of Connected Technology Ecosystems (Product Management) and is responsible for constructing the rules governing admission into a JUUL Partner Program and continued operation of the program. After program launch, the role will involve recruiting and interfacing with prospective program members, building additional features into the program, and create derivations of the program (e.g., a partner program for researchers). Subsequent generations of JUUL devices will be connected, addressing a wide array of use cases ranging from youth prevention to habit control and more. In concert with releasing connected product, JUUL Product Management is opening access to the JUUL Connectivity Platform (JCP), enabling third-party partners to build differentiated applications and services. The Partnerships team is responsible for creating the JUUL Partner Program that leverages the JCP and, initially, a mobile software development kit (M-SDK). Third-party apps will enable consumers to view and interface with their privacy-protected data (e.g., milligrams of nicotine per puff) in the context of habit control regimens. This role will work across various cross-functional groups in the company to deliver a coherent program that builds on JUUL Labs differentiated connectivity offerings. Responsibilities include:

  • Architect and maintain governance of the Partner Program
  • Assist in defining requirements and characteristics of the mobile SDK
  • Help to ensure the long-term stability of APIs with upstream (cloud) services
  • Interface with stakeholders across multiple JUUL organizations including mobile engineering, platform engineering, hardware/software product management, others
  • Product Strategy: ensure that we have a comprehensive partnering strategy for achieving JUUL s vision and operating plan; articulate and present this strategy to senior executives
  • Build executive alignment for your recommended courses of action
  • Members of the partner program will provide a base for deeper commercial partnerships and, potentially, investment:
  • Source, vet, negotiate, and close complex commercial transactions in numerous countries working daily with regulatory and commercial attorneys
  • Product development leader: work collaboratively across the company to identify and resolve risks to our development plan
  • Collaborate internally across multiple teams: enterprise markets, clinical, consumer insights, digital, corporate development
  • Consumer advocacy: tirelessly advocate for the customer, both inside and outside of JUUL
  • 7+ years of experience in product management and creation of partner programs.
  • History of successful product initiatives, preferably in the realm of partnering and partner management.
  • History of sourcing, vetting, closing, and implementing commercial transaction.
  • Technical, analytical and cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Strong strategic thinking and excellent communication skills.
