What District Executives Do
Our professionals develop and use skills in management, sales, public relations, and fund raising. Although they spend their share of hours behind a desk, much more time is spent in the field checking out the action in their service areas, making sure that goals are set, and objectives are met.
A District Executive Position
The district executive manages the overall growth, extension, quality, program enhancement, and supervision of the Scouting program within a specified geographical area. The Executive oversees a District Operations Board who in turn support, train, and motivate the adult volunteers delivering the Scouting program. Although most of the work deals with human relations, fund-raising administration and public relations are vital additional duties of the district executive.
Starting Pay and Benefits
Starting salary is $33,000 plus a benefits package that includes major medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life-insurance, long-term disability, accidental death, a defined benefit retirement plan, plus additional monthly compensation for business phone, mileage, and meals. We also offer a generous vacation policy and ten holiday observances. Annual increase in salary is determined by an individuals overall performance.
