Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Project Engineering Manager, the Draftsman performs a variety of engineering drawings related to all aspects of product development and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare routine working sketches and layouts.
  • Reverse engineering of components.
  • Drawing / model conversion from 2D to 3D.
  • Perform multiple drafting assignments requiring application of design drafting principles, theories, standards, concepts and techniques.
  • Understands and uses labeling dimensioning and callout standards.
  • Create section cuts / drawings from designers input.
  • Work with and assist higher level engineers and designers on a direct project-by-project basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Experience: 2-5 years of AutoCAD. Must possess excellent 3D modeling skills and excellent 2D CAD drawing skills using AutoCAD. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge/Education: High school or equivalent. Minimum Associates Degree in Related Field. Trained knowledge of AutoCAD. Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig). Understand inter-relationship of drawings. Understand make-up of typical drawing package.
  • Responsibility: Carry out assigned duties as requested on schedule.
  • Attributes: Must be a team player, possessing the ability to collaborate with others and manage ones own reactivity during times of stress, change, or intense deadlines. Excellent organizational and communication skills a must.
  • Complexity of duties: Attention to detail and technical abilities.
  • Supervision received: Direct oversight from the Project Engineering Manager.
  • Supervision exercised: None
  • Working conditions: Mostly indoors; some exposure to extreme noise, heat, cold, dusty environment.
  • Mental and physical demands: Sitting long hours, speaking, listening, hand & eye coordination, finger dexterity.
  • Confidential data: Access to intellectual property which must remain confidential and cannot be reproduced.
  • Travel requirements: None.
  • Physical demands - Must be able to sit for long periods, some periods of standing, walking, lifting file boxes, speaking, listening, motor coordination skills, and good eyesight for reading documents and data entry. Additional and more specific physical requirements:
