The Economic Services Administration, Community Services Division (CSD) is looking for a Financial Services Specialist 4 to join our Customer Service Contact Center, Centennial 2 - Tacoma Hub which is located in Tacoma, WA. In this role you ll serve as a lead worker. Assisting the supervisor in the management of the financial services staff by coaching, onsite assistance for financial eligibility, and providing training. You ll also regularly conduct financial eligibility audits and ensure that current eligibility information and training are communicated with staff.
Some of what you ll do:

  • Assign, audit, and review work of financial staff
  • Conduct training for financial staff
  • Maintains and reviews procedures for efficient workflow
  • Performs complex duties in relation to establishing financial eligibility, rule interpretation, planning and procedural development
  • Verify and establish overpayments and complete referral to the Office of Financial Recovery
  • Review case and independently analyze case actions for accuracy
  • Screen applicants to identify those needing assistance in accessing department programs and services
  • Assist customers with the process of applying for Apple Healthcare
  • Conduct interviews and respond to individual reporting changes, requesting information or needing referrals to other programs/agencies
  • Act as a unit supervisor in their absence

What we re looking for:
  • Subject matter expert in determining eligibility for state programs
  • Ability to assist others in interpretation and analysis of data, make independent decisions, and assist in the supervision and training of staff
  • Proficiency in computer programs in use by the Community Service Division
  • Experience interviewing individuals regarding sensitive personal and financial matters
  • Basic understanding of the administrative hearing process
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with management, peers, direct staff, clients, and the public
  • Willingness to actively participate in career development for all staff

Who should apply?
Professionals with at least 12 months of experience as a Financial Services Specialist 3 as well as satisfactory completion of the agency s Financial Services Specialist Training Program.
