East Coast IT Operations Manager
Jacobs is seeking a qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOM SITEC II Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. Your career at Jacobs enables USSOCOM to fulfill its mission to “Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As a member of our team, you will support the vice president of the Enterprise Operations Group (EOG) as we partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 users around the world in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation.
The Operations Manager is a key part of the management team that requires a technical background, business acumen and people-management skills. Because they direct the work of other employees and interact with the customer, candidates require strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Analytical thinking also is very important, as this position often involves problem resolution and process development. The operations manager analyzes and improves organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency. A strong customer service orientation is a must because the Operations Manager often serve as the final escalation point for high-visibility issues to contract leadership.
Assists with analyzing workflow, delegating projects, and meeting departmental goals
Assists in managing the Contractor and subcontractor staff
Assist with talent acquisition, staff development, and mentoring
Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
Works with third-party vendors to meet customer expectations
Work with senior stakeholders.
Executes project management processes and methodologies within contract frameworks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations
Assist in developing key critical path activities and understanding the technical requirements, dependencies, and tradeoffs at varying levels
Identify and address problems and opportunities
Support worker communication with the management team.
