Events Associate

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has an opening for an Events Associate in Dallas, TX.

Job Summary:
Assists the Events Manager and Senior Events Specialist in the coordination of special events, makes arrangements for community events, meetings, campaigns and special events; conducts various administrative support and project management duties; performs advanced, complex administrative work with a broad scope of responsibilities; conducts database and other research and prepares complex reports, spreadsheets and analysis of information; performs responsibilities with extraordinary attention to detail, and ensures accuracy and quality of all work; provides primary support for Special Events Team; responds to inquiries regarding departmental operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of Raiser s Edge (BlackBaud) development software and the ability to use the Events Module.Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Knowledge of basic accounting principles.Knowledge of effective and efficient methods for organizing and maintaining records and ability to perform the same.Ability to coordinate programs, meetings and special events as outlined in this job description.Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate, complete and timely manner.

Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with Salvation Army officers, employees, member of advisory organizations and the community.Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Education and Experience:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D., with an associate s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of business administration, hospitality, marketing, or a related field preferred, And Two years of relevant special events experience working in a setting utilizing Raiser s Edge or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses/Certifications:
Valid State Drivers License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to travel to various locations in order to participate in donor events.

Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs. during events) occasionally.
