FED Accessibility Specialist

REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years as a full-time accessibility specialist

Ability to interpret and advise on standards, principles and techniques for meeting accessibility success criteria (including WCAG 2.1 AA and WAI-ARIA 1.2)

A thorough understanding of why and how to build products that are accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities

A thorough understanding of disability types and assistive technology

Experience/Expertise with automated accessibility tools such as AMP or aXe

Experience/Expertise with screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and Talkback preferred) Front End Development:

Proficiency in hand coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Experience with Responsive Web Design technique and concepts

Strong knowledge of WAI-ARIA 1.2 roles, states, properties and focus management

Understanding standard vs. custom controls and how WAI-ARIA best practices is used for custom controls

Solid understanding of cross browser compatibilities

Ability to work with little supervision, tight timelines, and competing priorities

Experience working in multidisciplinary teams

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to cross-train and mentor

Accuracy, reliability, and excellent attention to detail Desired Certification (beneficial, but not required):

Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
