Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a FGP Analyst.

The primary function of the FGP Analyst is to provide high level analytical support to the Vice President, Senior Directors, and Business Administrators of the Faculty Group Practice to assist in achieving financial and operational goals of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • MISCELLANEOUS: Assist in troubleshooting institutional issues as they relate to the FGP. Keep up on Legislative and Industry changes that may effect the manner in which we conduct business.
  • OPERATIONS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Assist in performance of operational assessments of existing practices. Assist in the preparation of business plans for new practices and/or lines of business. Assist in the preparation of presentations on any of the above topics for departmental administrators, chairs, School and Hospital Administration, or the physicians within the FGP. Assist in the development and preparation of ad hoc reports on specific issues to help practice managers and physicians make decisions.
  • MANAGED CARE:Attend meetings with payers as required.Assist in the solution of payer claims issues.Evaluate payer reimbursement levels to assist the Business Administrator and NYU Managed Care to secure enhanced rates.
  • REIMBURSEMENT MANAGEMENT: Assist in the design of reports and data files to be requested of all billing vendors. Work with billing companies to obtain data files for ad hoc reports.Identify and resolve any inaccuracies in billing reports. Under the direction of the Administrative Practice Manager,review billing reports to identify and correct adverse trends.Attend monthly meetings with billing staff and physicians as directed by the Business Administrator.
  • FINANCE: Review financial reports of practices (Billing reports, e-finance,daily deposit sheets).and analyze Profit &Loss Statements that accurately display the condition of the practice. Prepare monthly Score cards and other reporting tools. Identify and correct errors in the payroll and accounting systems.Assist preparation of FY Budgets. Prepare other analytical reports to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement. Provide support for other projects as needed.
  • INTERPERSONAL: At the request of the FGP Business Administrators,represent the FGP at department meetings and act as liaison with outside agencies(billing companies,vendors, etc).Collaborate with other FGP Analysts to enhance the overall support services provided to the department through the design and development of new tools.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor s Degree (preferably in finance, accounting, economics or other business or healthcare related major). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, or similar programs. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
