Position Summary

To help us with our rapidly growing safety critical software business, we are seeking an experienced Field Application Engineer with a strong background in embedded software and knowledge of safety critical software systems.

You will be responsible for working as part of our North America wide sales team as the principal technical point of contact for our customers. As North American Field Application Engineer you will act as a technical advisor to customers on the capabilities and applicability of CoreAVI products and services to their projects. You will be assisting customers throughout the life-cycle of their engagement with CoreAVI. This will mean working with industry leading customers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and NASA on multiple projects in sites across North America. Beyond giving presentations and demonstrations, we are looking for an engineer who enjoys building long term relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor who customers will look to for guidance. You will be a key member of a small, dedicated team of professionals and expected to provide insight and advice internally and work in a positive collaborative manner in a culturally diverse environment both internally and externally.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Technical presentations of CoreAVI products at customer visits and trade shows
  • Provide guidance, consultancy and training on CoreAVI products
  • Pre-sales support and post-sales support on CoreAVI products
  • Help to implement and/or optimize demonstration software for sales and marketing
  • Support the sales and marketing staff of CoreAVI from a technical perspective
  • Report customer information gathered at visits to the North American Sales Directors
  • Provide technical assistance in the preparation of customer proposals
  • Extensive international travel in support of Sales and customers will be required

Required Experience:

  • A BSc or MSc in electrical engineering or computer science or equivalent in a technical study
with the focus on embedded systems
  • 5+ years work experience in embedded systems, preferably in safety critical systems
  • Experience with safety certification standards, requirements and processes
  • A strong team player and communicator, working well with colleagues yet also able to work
independently
  • Due to the diversity of projects and customer driven nature of this position, you need to be
flexible and capable of rapidly switching from one task to another
  • Full proficiency in English

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with DO-178C, IEC61508 or ISO26262 projects a key asset
  • Strong organizational and technical skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable dealing with diverse customers and cultures
  • Insight into the practicality of proposed architectures and projects
  • Problem-solving aptitude
