Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst

Role Summary:The Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst is a key finance position reporting to the Nuclear Energy FP&A Manager with significant interface with the Nuclear Energy CFO, CEO and the entire GM staff. This position owns leadership presentations and preparation for monthly operating reviews. This position will also support long term strategic planning, HQ reporting, cost analysis and tracking.

Essential Responsibilities:As the Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst, you will:
  • Lead preparation of monthly management review presentations and related leadership prep materials for operational reviews
  • Work with finance managers to develop detailed variance analysis of P&L metrics related to prior periods and operating plans
  • Work with FP&A leader and finance managers on long term financial plans for GE and JV. Consolidating inputs from various finance team members and support shaping long term 3 and 10 year financial strategies
  • Lead variable cost analysis to help identify productivity and cost out opportunities including bullet train
  • Provide analysis of business performance and for all forecasts (i.e., Strategic Roadmap, Blueprint and short-range forecasts) for cost and income statement
  • Support operations analysis and reporting efforts for the Nuclear business, working with Profit & Loss (P&L) finance managers & functional leadership teams
  • Support the financial planning and analysis processes with analytical insight into both quarterly results and business planning cycles
  • Coordinate with the rest of the team to understand and predict business dynamics impacting cost and productivity and effectively communicate to senior management
  • Support quarterly closing submission and analysis (including simplification efforts)
  • Support FP&A team in delivering on ad hoc requests coming from HQ, corporate and JV partners
  • Drive overall FP&A reporting simplification and automation

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Math or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of related finance experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility, including prior P&L finance leadership

Desired Characteristics:
  • Detailed financial planning, reporting, and variance analysis experience
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Experience working with executive level cross-functional employees
  • Experience with managing complex projects with various stakeholders
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, including but not limited to: Oracle ERP, Tableau reporting (Nuclear), HFM/Hyperion tools
  • Detailed understanding of P&L and balance sheet analysis and forecasting
  • Strong capacity to balance recurring and ad-hoc requests from business and Functional GM s
  • Strong communication skill
  • Inclusive with the ability to build a connection with the team through personal involvement and trust
