Front Desk - Medical Practice

FSJI employs 20 providers within 14 clinics to work together to deliver the most advanced integrated care. In recent years our team of over 160 employees has experienced exponential growth and have an exciting 2019 expansion plan.

The Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact in all of our centers. As first impressions are lasting, it is imperative that our personnel portray patience, understanding and professionalism. The front desk interfaces with patients through greeting, scheduling, and maintaining work area by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets patients, verify appointments and directs them to the waiting area.
  • Handles incoming calls, transfers calls, takes messages, retrieve messages from answering service and return calls.
  • Schedule/reschedule appointments for patients. Verify appointments with patients 1-2 days in advance of scheduled appointment.
  • Pull, prepare and update patient charts and files.
  • Verify patient information.
  • Maintain smooth channel of communication between patient, Physical therapist and other clinical staff.
  • Prepare statistical reports
  • Straightens and cleans reception area.
  • Maintain and make certain that all clinic forms are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Maintain photocopier to ensure proper operation and adequate paper supply.
  • Provide coverage in neighboring clinics
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • MUST be able to work these hours: MWF 9-7, Tues 11-7, Thurs 10-7
  • Office is closed daily between 1pm and 3pm
  • Must be Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Good telephone, computer and typing skills.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a cheerful, positive and respectful attitude
  • EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 1-2 years experience as a medical Front Desk preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
