With five clinical divisions, patient care is provided in medical offices, 16 urgent care centers, hospitals, and nursing homes, as well as directly to patients in their homes. The Care Management division cares for the community by addressing social determinants of health through RNs, care managers and care coordinators. Essen clinicians provide quality care for nearly 30,000 patient lives across our five clinical divisions. Essen was one of the initial practices to have achieved Level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home designation in New York by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. In 2018, Essen Health Care was nominated for the Heritage Innovation Award. Essen continues to expand and grow in the five boroughs while extending its breadth of services and continuing to provide the communities with leading edge care.


We are looking to hire highly analytical candidates who are as skilled in healthcare administration as they are in business management. Healthcare Business Analysts are specialists who understand the business needs of a hospital and how to use data to achieve those needs. Their duties include organizing and managing large and varied data sets, analyzing healthcare data to optimize business operations and communicating their findings through the use of data visualization and detailed reports.

Compiling and organizing healthcare data.

Investigating data to find patterns and trends.

Understanding healthcare business operations.

Analyzing data to assist in delivering optimal healthcare management and decision making.

Using healthcare data to achieve administrative needs and goals.

Manage and organize projects in a timely manner to deliver value to all operational stakeholders

Work with operational personnel to conduct proper analysis and to ensure accurate capture of data; Lead interdepartmental initiatives to continuously improve systems and processes.

Identifies opportunities for improvement and supports strategies to automate processes and allocate resources to performing data analyses that identify opportunities for improved outcomes of care.

Converting data into usable information that is easy to understand.

Communicating analytic insights to management.

Bachelor s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Master s degree advantageous.

2+ years experience in an analytic role.

Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL.

Experience with data visualization tools.

4+ years experience in a healthcare industry setting.

Proficiency utilizing and managing electronic health records (eClinicalWorks preferred)

Experience in healthcare reporting and related activities with a basic understanding of databases, clinical operations, and billing functions preferred

HIPAA, Confidentiality and Infection Control Compliance

Follows office procedures with regard to HIPAA documents and adheres to HIPAA privacy mandates; adheres to confidentiality policy; demonstrates infection control compliance relevant to job responsibilities: e.g. standard precautions
