QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualification(s): Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, related academic discipline OR three years of full-time, professional instructional design experience Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated mastery of applying instructional design principles, online/hybrid pedagogy, learning theory, and instructional technologies that influence learning design and learning environments Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or related academic discipline Two years of experience working at higher education institutions as an instructional designer, designing and developing online/hybrid courses and programs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience working with web-conferencing, screen-casting, and other multimedia technologies. Experience with a learning management system Experience using an established rubric (such as Quality Matters) to evaluate online/hybrid courses Strong Canvas experience Experience evaluating instructional technologies Experience with project management Experience working in diverse teams and managing expectations Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional Design Support all aspects of the instructional design process for online/hybrid courses including faculty/staff training, course design and development, course launch, ensuring course quality through adherence to college standards, and participation in the course continuous improvement process. Collaborate with faculty/staff and other instructional design staff to design and develop interactive, engaging and effective learning experiences for online/hybrid courses and programs. Adhere to and advance university standards and procedures for the creation of quality educational products. Organize, develop, and maintain course resources used for faculty/staff and online/hybrid course development. Maintain program and course development milestones and timeline. Ensure consistent quality standards, look and feel, template design, and user experience across programs and courses.
