Interior Designer (Entry Level/Junior)

MoharDesign is a small interior design firm in Concord, MA. We collaborate with architectural teams, institutions and corporations to provide interior design services for interior building elements, finishes and furniture. We are a fun, dedicated team of creative individuals that pride ourselves on our collaboration and delivery of high quality service to our clients. We are currently hiring for an entry level/junior level interior designer with 1-2 years experience working on commercial, institutional and/or corporate projects. Project types are higher education, K-12, and corporations working in collaboration with renowned architectural firms. Many projects are large, ranging from 50,000 to several hundred thousand square feet.

This role works day to day, with assigned responsibilities for several projects and assigned responsibilities that are ongoing to support the office generally. Depending on experience level, may be assigned as main administrator of several projects to be the gatekeeper & filer of project correspondence, documents and drawings, and schedules.

Will participate in all aspects of the projects including aspects of design and management.Will assist/execute AutoCad, SketchUp and/or Revit drawings; do furniture layouts; floor patterns; collect samples; assemble presentation boards; research products; prepare furniture specifications, finishes specifications, design drawings & working drawings.

Will intercept all received emails per assigned projects; will read & execute tasks as able or bring to attention of Sr or PIC. File all emails properly.Dependent upon experience, may attend client meetings to assist with set up & note taking. Might conduct lower level/less informal meetings (alone or with senior team member). Not likely to conduct or present high level meetings. Will prepare meeting minutes & follow through with Action Tasks.

Knowledge of FF&E manufacturers and dealers and ability to research appropriate FF&E per project criteria & budget.Knowledge of Finishes, Materials & Textile manufactures and ability to research.

  • Fun to work with; loves design & architecture, colors & materials, and furniture. Enjoys working as part of a team with other designers, clients and manufacturer representatives.

Software requirements: Basic/Intermediate AutoCad knowledge/use and experience with MS Office Suite.
