Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Work with the Business Partner or Sr. Business Partner to:

  • Supports the business partner to promote a business-focused, results-oriented technical culture within IT in support of the business.
  • Provides functional support to our EH&S Corporate functions and those platforms used throughout our operations.
  • Provides coordination support between EH&S teams (remote and corporate) and functions of IT departments to assure effective use of the systems.
  • Exhibits an understanding of business functional disciplines and technical IT knowledge (applications, analytics, hardware, software, security, etc.) to identify opportunities to leverage information technology to achieve business objectives and assist in deployment
  • Evaluates, recommends, and roadmaps changes to current and future system requirements to meet global business organizational needs, and assist the BP to drive those changes
  • Possess basic knowledge of the IT industry for that business, best practice, business and incumbent functional area in order to be a trusted business advisor for the Functional Leaders in the region
  • Conducts analysis and provide input to the BP to drive strategic business value and innovation
  • Builds and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, under guidance of the BP
  • Acts as owner of IT for functional or geographic area and liaison between IT teams and the business under the direction of the senior business partner
  • Supports the BP to communicate successes, demonstrate IT value and appropriate governance of IT activities
  • Leverages common solutions and innovative technologies
  • Develops and maintains a broad business understanding
  • Maintains up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies and make recommendations to the BP
  • Manages and supports services provided to business through existing and new technology
  • Gathers business needs and gains alignment between business needs and technical capabilities, engaging with System Analysts and Enterprise Architects, under guidance of the BP
  • Captures and tracks demand via the agreed process, provides recommendations for prioritization, and oversees program and project initiatives
  • Manages business expectations with business stakeholders based on IT resource availability
  • Prepares the Business Requirements Document for owned IT initiatives
  • Collaborates with other IT resources on the execution of approved IT initiatives
  • A successful candidate will support building sustainable and scalable processes, documentation, and reporting that can be leveraged across the EHS space. In addition, the successful candidate will dive deep into complex problems, answer critical business questions, extract valuable insights from data to better understand EHS results and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement



  • A minimum of six years of IT experience or relevant functional business and process expertise appropriate to the role is required. Experience in strategic decision making and successful influencing on leadership level.
  • Previous experience with, and exposure to, SAP technology and processes.
  • Experience building and communicating future business plans and capabilities along with being able to provide insights into the technologies needed for delivery is required.


Preferred Experience:

  • Financial acumen to support business case creation and measurement.
  • Broad knowledge of the specific business s technologies and capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the organization including suppliers, partners and customers.
  • Master's Degree
  • Project or program management experience in dealing with medium or large projects.
  • Previous experience in working in both various IT related Business roles and EHS.
  • Prior Consulting experience in IT or in EHS.


Required Skills:

  • Self-motivated, quick and assertive. Extremely detailed oriented and organized. Exceptional time management skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics. Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis. Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them. Clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat Professional. Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical thinking, process management, time-management, verbal and written communication skills.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor s Degree required in Computer Science, Information Services, Safety Management, Environmental Engineering or related field is required.

Work Conditions:

  • Office based with travel up to 40% by land and air required.
  • Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
