Junior Editor/Program Analyst (Part-time)

At Mandarin Consulting, provider of Global Elite coaching (cross-cultural career coaching for international students seeking global leadership roles), we seek a bright, energetic, conscientious talent to join our national (and global) team. Ideally, you’ll be New York City-based, although we’re open to remote arrangements, as well.

Primary areas of focus:

  • Proofread and revise international student (mainly graduate-level) resumes to ensure excellence in American grammar, spelling, punctuation and syntax
  • Review/edit other career-related documents (potentially cover letters, job application responses, etc.) to identify opportunities for even more effective/powerful communication
  • Uncover and convey challenging patterns in written English-language issues to assist our Coaches in supporting international client communication
  • For ambitious applicants, potential additional areas of focus:

  • Support North American Program Manager and Head of Coaching & Talent Management in analyzing and generating insights around student and program metrics
  • Devise systems, tools and/or procedures to organize/streamline/improve existing national Program Management processes
  • Contribute to optimization of other core U.S. operations (sourcing/interviewing/evaluating talent, marketing communications and/or other areas) as skills and interest permit
  • Hard and soft skills you’ll bring to the role:

  • Strong interpersonal/relationship-building abilities, to work with our U.S., U.K. and global teams
  • Strong verbal English communication skills
  • Outstanding written English communication skills (including proofreading and editing)
  • Good judgment, discretion and level of integrity; sensitivity to impact of decisions on both company and individuals
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy and excellence
  • Capacity to work effectively in both team settings and independently
  • Highly-skilled in Word for Mac iOS interface, as well as functional ability in Excel and PowerPoint
  • BA/BS (or other 4-year degree) required
  • Minimum of 6 months of U.S. work experience expected; 1-2 years preferred
  • Ability to legally work in the U.S. as of date of hire (must be Green Card Holder or U.S. Citizen; no sponsorship or OPT approval offered)
  • Part-time (up to 20 hours per week); role may be performed remotely for the right individual. May potentially be increased toa full-time position by 2020.
