King County- Community Engagement Support Staff

Special Care Agency – Auburn, WA

SAILS Washington inc. is seeking energetic and motivational individuals who are interested in working with clients who have a variety of developmental/physical disabilities. The Community Engagement program is a fairly new service and there will be the potential for this position to move into a managerial position in the future.

The main focus of the position will be to accompany your client?s into the community. You will be transporting clients in your own vehicle (or meeting the bus) to and from their preferred activities and supporting them through the activity. A positive attitude and the ability be a positive influence in the client?s lives is essential to this position.

This program gives individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to engage in their community and participate in activities with your assistance.

On a typical day, you will see 3 to 4 client?s. No personal care is required in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to transport clients in your own vehicle (reliable, safe vehicle required)
  • Must be able to pass a background application process
  • First Aid/CPR certification required (Will assist with getting this training)
  • Must have a WA State Driver s License
  • Must have auto insurance
  • Prefer one or more years working with people with disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, guardians, case managers, other service providers.
