Logistics Analyst

DHL Supply Chain – Livonia, MI

Facilitates ongoing development of the lead logistics provider solution through leading the value enhancement processes and developing continuous improvement opportunities for implementation for the client Engages in regular communications and assessments with Exel mgmt team and customers stakeholders to assess operations and transportation performance and identification of improvement opportunities Is capable in identifying the risk and reward for value opportunities and effectively communicate those to mgmt and customer Assesses business processes for improvement and best practice application Reviews and evaluates business KPIs for trends or gaps, and is able to apply analytical tools to define casuals and identify recommended solutions, corrective actions, or qualify other opportunities Works through the defined business processes in determining and delivering value opportunities to customer Identifies and coordinates the needed resource requirements and stakeholders to deliver on opportunities Prepares and communicates executive summary analysis for management and customer stakeholders Establishes and maintains a network of communication with key stakeholders throughout the business both internal and external Understands and utilizes quality tools in driving business improvement such as six sigma, problem solving, and CIP processes Supports development and execution of project management tasks, resource identification, dependencies, implementation planning, and delivery within a project management scope
  • Undergraduate degree in supply chain mgt, logistics, transportation, business administration or equivalent experience
  • Proficient user in MS applications with emphasis on Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and working with databases
  • Ability to derive, present, interpret, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to multi-task and expand ideas and objectives with limited direction
  • Firm understanding of the supply chain functions and drivers behind them
  • Familiarity and experience with WMS/TMS software applications and business concepts and benefits that support their utilization
  • Ability to build relationships and present ideas across layers of an organization
  • Understanding and competency with integrated logistics solutions and their application within the supply chain, operational functions (receiving, picking/shipping, transportation, inventory control, and reverse logistics, etc.)
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Experience in leading a team through change management processes
  • Three to five years of logistics experience with both operational and analytical background
  • Experience in managing or supervising a logistics function a plus
  • Travel varies
