Marketing Operations Manager

Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Manager, Marketing Operations to join our Sales Organization in Marlborough, MA.

This person will be dedicated to supporting the Promotional Materials Cycle (Medical/Regulatory/Legal review) by ensuring compliance and process adherence of all committee stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include facilitation, planning and prioritization of the promotional review process; metrics across all committees to assess efficiencies for improvement; and management of the current content management systems (Veeva Vault PromoMats and DAM) for promotional and non-promotional reviews. This person will be expected to provide feedback to all relevant stakeholders and their management team based on training, metrics, qualitative feedback and observations.


Critical to this individuals success will be his/her ability to interact with a wide range of functional areas within the organization, maintain a solution-oriented mentality, develop partnership and alignment among multiple internal stakeholders, prioritize and plan weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual schedule of promotional materials to align with the overall organization and brand goals, and effectively operate across all levels of the organization. The role requires experience with commercial organizations, Legal, medical and regulatory needs as well as internal pharmaceutical and biotechnology business processes and program/project management familiarity.

Essential Functions

Manage Sunovions content management systems (Veeva Vault PromoMats) to ensure the system supports efficiencies within the promotional review process and non-promotional review process for Commercial stakeholders

Manage the digital asset management (DAM) platform for Commercial stakeholders
  • Maintain process compliance to manage organizational risk
  • Manage current metrics of the process to reinforce best practices or strengthen efficiencies
Manage technical/content management systems components of new hire training for organizational stakeholders
  • Thorough understanding of the organizations overall goals to allow for facilitation of prioritization across multiple brands and business units
  • Assess and resolve conflicts with key initiatives and stakeholders and enables solutions
  • Encourage stakeholders throughout the PMC process to leverage innovative thinking and a solution-mentality and fosters team based environment
  • Support the coordination of planning and promotional material process related logistics across all committees
  • Facilitate promotional review meetings, ensure cross-functional integration, help find common ground & resolves conflicts as needed, focus and re-focus promotional review team on objectives to adhere to in-meeting and overall PMRC schedules
  • Complete strategic and tactical ad hoc assignments, as needed
  • Keeping all stakeholders in PMRC up-to-date on all relevant / new trends, guidance, laws and requirements

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

Bachelors, 3 - 5 Years

2+ or more years of process and project management experience within the pharmaceutical promotional review process
2+ years of experience with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Legal interactions in pharmaceuticals/ biotechnology strongly preferred

2+ years of experience with a content review platform or IT programming
  • 2+ years in marketing in a pharmaceutical company or advertising agency preferred.
  • Experience working within the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotech industry required, additional experience in management consulting, consumer products or advertising agency a plus.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular PowerPoint and Outlook and familiarity with promotional review technologies
  • Strong Negotiation, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills required
  • Strong ability to communicate in multiple mediums to all levels of the organization and provide clear and concise feedback to leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, direct and motivate teams and influence without authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to accomplish tasks
  • Leverage solution-mentality to influence positive change
  • Work hours may include meetings schedule outside of normal working hours. Demands during peak times may require work hours outside of normal working hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
