Mechanical Engineer

Job Description :

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize, and implement designs using tolerance analysis, and evaluation of novel energy generation systems using mechanical and electrical design principles

• Collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and business professionals in system design, problem solving, and manufacturing planning (additive and subtractive manufacturing)

• Create and define parts, modules, and assemblies using 3D models, 2D cross sections, tolerance stack-ups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly

• Identify potential issues and design flaws and make improvements that better the design, reliability, safety or manufacturability of the product

• Perform engineering calculations to support design work

• Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD tools

• Collaborate with the General Resource team and brainstorm creative design concepts and solutions.

Requirements

• Must have 1+ years experience working in the field of mechanical design

• Proficiency in 3D software (Solidworks, Inventor, OnShape, etc.)

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including an understanding of thermodynamics and machine element design

• Must have the ability to think outside of the box and brainstorm innovative concepts and solutions

• Strong attention to details and highly organized

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering

• Previous experience designing or assembling mechanical systems

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge or familiarity with renewable energy systems

• Experience testing and refining products

• Capable of executing FEA

• Prior experience in a fast growing start-up company

• Experience or knowledge in scalable manufacturing

• Strong leadership capabilities
