Medical Receptionist/Front Desk

Joseph Surgery LLC – Miami, FL

The primary function of the Front Desk Medical Receptionist is to answer all incoming calls and coordinate patient care.

Verification: The Receptionist coordinates all aspects of the outpatient/inpatient referral and precertification process including pre-opt review, benefits and eligibility for office visits and scheduled procedures, data entry and provider correspondence.

Patient Follow ups: The secondary function for the Front Desk Medical Receptionist is the Follow Up Process. This means that the patients chart is thoroughly reviewed, and the Receptionist facilitates with obtaining the Surgeons request and /or recommendation - i.e. diagnostic studies, lab requests, or future appointments etc.

Perform Additional Administrative Tasks:

-Answer incoming calls and schedule patients appointments

-Check voice mail daily and relay messages to respective contacts

-Provide support for Cancer related patients follow up as high priority

-Send morning correspondence to all Doctors for caseload & place of service

-Send all progress notes to Primary Care Physicians within same week of visit

-Complete & Follow up on lab requisitions for all in office procedures - i.e. Quest

-Make Courtesy call to all surgical patients & schedule all post-op appointments

-Follow up on all canceled and pending cases within 1-2 weeks (timely manner)

-Actively check the regular fax & Efax for patient & medical offices communication

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $11.00 to $13.00 /hour

Experience:

  • customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Receptionist: 2 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish preferred (Preferred)

Required travel:

  • 50% (Preferred)
