The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time NYC Public Service Fellow in the Bureau of Fiscal Services. Reporting directly to the Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Program Director, the successful candidate will: Assist in M/WBE vendor outreach and monitoring M/WBE compliance for the FDNY. Tasks will include monitoring prime contractor utilization of M/WBE subcontractors and non-M/WBE subcontractors; performing market research and analysis to set M/WBE utilization goals on formal contracts; participating in vendor outreach activities, promoting M/WBE usage to FDNY staff and assisting them in finding certified M/WBEs; representing the FDNY at off-site vendor trade fairs and promoting M/WBE inclusion in agency procurements; assisting in tracking vendor compliance and scheduling and attending quarterly compliance meetings; assisting in preparing for the Local Law 1 audit facilitated by the Department of Small Business Services; and assisting in identifying obstacles to M/WBE contracting and proposing innovative ways to overcome them.
Minimum Qual Requirements
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited CUNY college in a major related to the work in which the fellow will be trained, and perform in the particular position.
Experience with interpreting and aggregating data and Excel reporting.
Experience and comfort with public speaking.
Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
